Our Approach

Our Treatment Philosophy

At Therapeutic Oasis of the Palm Beaches, we are truly dedicated to providing you the highest quality of care.  We work to genuinely connect with our clients in a respectful and non-judgmental manner.  Our treatment approach recognizes that each client is unique, and as such, we take the time to understand your personal experience in order to design a care plan just for you.  As we guide clients in their journey to wellness, we honor where they are and gently nudge them toward change.

Our Story

Our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Groups

DBT Skills Group

At the core of DBT, the standard skills group guides participants through the four modules: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotional Regulation and Distress Tolerance.  The group is taught in a classroom format following a series of lesson plans, with homework, in-group assignments and review.

Young Adult DBT Group

Similar to our standard skills group, this popular program is designed for young adults, ages 18-25 who are launching into independence.  DBT skills are enhanced with  an interactive approach using technology, art and other expressive therapies. Transitional topics include career planning, relationships and managing the responsibilities of adulthood.

Advanced DBT

Graduates of our DBT programs often wish to continue building and enhancing the skills they developed in Skills Group.  Advanced DBT offers our clients continued support and education as their focus begins to shift toward a healthy and balanced life. Group members participate in practical exercises and activities that allow them to apply their knowledge base in an experiential way.

DBTeen

Our DBTeen program offers the combination of DBT skills and inquiry learning needed to keep teens inspired.  We encourage our students to do more than learn skills - we want them to LIVE them!!  Our program accommodates school schedules and includes a parent group.

DBT Inspired Youth Groups

All children can benefit greatly from learning the core DBT skills.  DBTween (ages 10-13) and Wise-Up (ages 7-9) present Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotional Regulation and Distress Tolerance skills in a kid-friendly package that promotes creativity and engages the wise mind.

Middle Path Group

For parents and adult family members, the Middle Path Group presents the core DBT skills to caregivers so that they may encourage and reinforce the new behaviors demonstrated by younger family members.
